How the score is calculated
We weight each check by how much it actually moves inbox placement in 2026:
- SPF (25 pts), record present, with a strict
-allor soft~allqualifier. - DKIM (20 pts), a published key on a known selector. Multiple selectors are common; we probe Google's by default.
- DMARC (25 pts), full credit for
p=reject, partial forquarantine, minimal fornone. - MX records (15 pts), the domain can actually receive replies.
- Blacklist (15 pts), clean across the major DNSBLs we scan.
What the score doesn't see
Reputation also depends on engagement signals: open and reply rates, spam complaints, and the warmup history of your individual mailboxes. Those don't show up in DNS, they're built through consistent sending behaviour over weeks.
